The first Semo Cup Qualifier was held Saturday June 24, 2006 at Kennett Country Club. Five Kennett Country Club members participated in this qualifier. Scores and point results are listed below:

Despite weather that was less than perfect, the 2006 KCC Member/Guest Scramble was a tremendous success. There were rain delays that halted play in excess of one hour both saturday afternoon and sunday morning. Approximately 75 Kennett Country Club members and their guests competed in 5 flights. Just a quick note to advise current KCC members and guests to exercise caution when entering or leaving Kennett Country Club. The construction project involving the expansion of Highway 412 has reached the edge of Kennett and our Country Club now.

The Missouri Department of Transportation has worked very hard trying not to disrupt the flow of traffic coming into or leaving Kennett and to prevent Kennett Country Club from making major modifications to our golf course as a result of the construction. In an effort to return the same courtesy to MoDot, the contractors and workers, we ask that members and guests of Kennett Country Club exercise caution and patience while entering and leaving the Country Club. We do not have a definite schedule of when concrete work will begin or be completed, but will try to update you when and if the entry to Kennett Country Club will be closed. Please contact us if you have further questions regarding the construction and we’ll provide you the most timely and accurate information possible.

The next men’s golf association meeting will be held at Kennett Country Club on Monday June 12, 2006. All members of the KCC MGA are invited to come out to enjoy Porky’s Barbecue from this month’s chef, Jingo Cole.

Golf Event: Play your own ball from the Gold Tees - be sure your name and handicap are listed on your scorecard.

Dinner will begin around 6:45pm with a short meeting following the meal. We hope to see everyone there.

The course was in perfect tournament condition and the weather was beautiful for both days of the tournament. Congratulations to the team of King & Stewart that carded a Hole In One on the Par 3 - 13th Hole during the Saturday round!

For the tournament participants that didn’t stick around for the festivities Saturday evening, you missed out on a great evening of Karaoke and dancing provided by Lee and Larry Hufford’s Sound Connection.
